I am a PhD student at Mila and Université de Montréal, advised by Gauthier Gidel and Aaron Courville.
I study questions of AI deployment and AI alignment through the lenses of multi-agent systems and game theory.
My research asks how AI can be incorporated to address pressing real-world problems and how these systems can be deployed safely —from individual applications to large-scale systems that shape incentives and societal outcomes.
Different researchers use the term AI alignment in different ways. In my work, I use it to refer to the development of new methods and principles that guide how AI systems should behave, while AI deployment focuses on understanding how existing methods behave in practice.
More recently, my work has turned toward alignment, where I explore ideas from bounded rationality and invariance as potential foundations for guiding system behavior in complex, multi-agent settings.

Prior to coming to Canada, I spent the first 18 years of my life in Belgrade, Serbia, where I attended Mathematical Grammar School and competed in mathematics competitions. I later moved to Canada, where I completed my undergraduate studies in engineering at the University of Toronto.
My current research is primarily motivated by (what I consider) pressing real-world problems, but I still occasionally get distracted by the elegance of solutions to open problems in combinatorics and online algorithms and I always enjoy hearing about new ones.
